TRAININGS ON SUPERVISION OF PHARMACIES AND ENFORCEMENT OF GOOD PHARMACY PRACTICE HAS BEEN ORGANIZED

During 23 - 27 of July 2018, the 1st mission out of 2 of the Activity 4.5 “Strengthening of supervision of pharmacies and enforcement of GPP” has been organized at the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of the Republic of Moldova.

In this respect, 3 EU experts shared the experience and best practices of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania as well as of the State Medicines Control Agency under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania in the areas of pharmacy activity, licensing of pharmacies, prescribing, dispensing of medicinal products, E-prescription, distance sale of medicinal products, education and recognition of pharmacy specialists, licensing of pharmacy specialists. 

The experts from the Republic of Lithuania also presented legal acts on pharmacy activity, structure of the pharmaceutical system, providing pharmaceutical assistance in rural areas and shared good practice.

The trainings were attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova, the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of the Republic of Moldova, the National Agency on Public Healthcare and the Pharmacists Association of the Republic of Moldova. At the end of the trainings, all the attendees were awarded with training certificates.

As the result of this Activity, a report on enforcement of Good Pharmaceutical Practice including recommendations for the legal framework will be prepared by the Short Term Experts and delivered to the Beneficiary Country.

The activity is supported within the EU-funded Twinning project “Strengthening of the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of the Republic of Moldova as regulatory agency in the field of medicines, medical devices and pharmaceutical activity“ which is jointly implemented by Lithuanian, Polish and Moldavian competent authorities.
